This October, the SciFri Book Club will read The Future Earth: A Radical Vision for What’s Possible in the Age of Warming by Eric Holthaus. As a leading climate change advocate and weather-related journalist, Holthaus combines interviews, scientific research and world-class reporting to outline how humans can implement real-world solutions to the climate crisis we’ve caused. An answer to hopelessness in the face of rapid climate change, The Future Earth invites us to imagine a future that prioritizes our home planet.
The Future Earth brings together a range of topics, including climate change, biology, ecology, futurism, economics, and more—and we’ll touch on these ideas throughout this Book Club season. You can get your copy from your local bookstore or on Bookshop.org.
This Book Club season kicks off Sunday, October 1, and you can read along with us! We’ll be (loosely) following this schedule, but all our readers are welcome to join us at their own pace:

- October 16-22: 2030-2040 in Part 2
- October 23-31: 2040-2050 in Part 2
