Ahead of the United Nations Climate Summit in New York next week, organizers are rallying scientists, activists, and concerned citizens for the People’s Climate March this Sunday to bring a public voice to the climate change discussion. Environmentalist Bill McKibben, who is one of the organizers of the march, talks about the importance of this rally at this time, and Peter deMenocal shares why he, as a climate scientist, has decided to march.

Peter deMenocal is a professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University in Palisades, New York.
