Tree planting campaigns are starting to pop up in big cities to help curb air pollution and rising temperatures. Meanwhile, scientists are just starting to quantify the effects of trees on air quality. Some tree species can add to pollution if they’re planted in certain locations. Biologist Todd Rosenstiel explains how different tree species interact with the atmosphere and how we can plant smarter.
