Renee Wong joined the Science Friday Board in 2024 and is the CFO and Partner at SuperLayer, a venture studio that incubates and invests in early stage technology companies. Prior to SuperLayer, she has worked as a finance executive in technology startups for over 15 years. Renee is passionate about startups across all stages of growth, with specialty in consumer tech and digital engagement. Besides leading the Operations and Finance functions of global projects, Renee has invested in over a dozen early stage ventures and raised over $300M of venture capital.
Renee loves to create and build and brings with her a stubborn optimism in the creative process—as seen in her experiments in the kitchen and her day-to-day operation of startups. She has an insatiable curiosity to learn what’s new and find out what comes next. She is also a champion for math and science education in early childhood.
Renee is based in NYC and enjoys exploring the city with her family while making time for tennis and yoga. She holds a B.Sc and MBA in Finance from the Wharton School and M.A. in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania.
