Dr. Kory Evans is an assistant professor in the Biosciences department at Rice University and researches the ecology and evolution of trait diversity in the most species-rich assemblage of vertebrates on the planet: bony fishes. His lab integrates data from developmental biology, ecology, biomechanics and phylogeny to understand how fish have evolved and changed at various timescales. His research centers the evolution and development of the fish skull and combines a comprehensive field research program with cutting-edge morphological and genetic techniques to understand the drivers of phenotypic diversification.
