Planned Giving

Making a planned gift to Science Friday ensures science news and information is available and accessible to all—today and for generations to come.

Voyager Legacy Giving Society

There are many ways to support Science Friday with a planned gift. The simplest ways are to establish a bequest to benefit Science Friday, or make Science Friday the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or a qualified retirement account. Doing so establishes your legacy of supporting science and making it part of our everyday lives and conversations. You can set up any of those gifts today and, if you do, please let us know by filling in the form below.

Ira Flatow in the CUNY radio studio. When I started Science Friday in 1991, I wanted listeners to learn something new each week. To be inspired by what they hear and say “hey, guess what I heard today” at the dinner table with family and friends.

The need to know about and talk about science—especially the research that impacts our lives and our planet—is even greater today than it was then. And that need isn’t going to go away anytime soon. That’s why I strongly believe that Science Friday needs to continue sharing the latest science news and information long after I’ve stepped away from the mic.

This belief led me to include Science Friday in my estate plans. That allows me to help ensure that Science Friday continues making an impact and inspiring dinner table discussions long after I’m gone. If listeners—like you—include Science Friday in their wills or make other planned gifts, then together we will make it possible for Science Friday to continue producing high quality science journalism for generations to come, regardless of how people get information 40 or 100 years from now.

Science Friday for generations to come? Together, we can make that a reality.

“Science Friday creates that magic combination of curiosity and enthusiasm for science and technology — I’m always learning new things about topics I never knew I’d be interested in because of the wonder of discovery that SciFri brings each week. I also believe that a strong society requires science literacy and that we’ll always need trustworthy science news to educate us. But science journalism doesn’t happen if we don’t support it, and funding for it will always be required, which is why I’m proud to include Science Friday in my estate planning. We need Science Friday to continue to inspire for generations to come.” —Jeff P., New York

A woman wearing glasses outside.“I’m a retired organic chemist who has listened to Science Friday for many years, on air and via the podcast.

I love Science Friday because I hear in-depth discussions of scientific and medical breakthroughs I don’t hear elsewhere. I have included this program in my estate plan because Science Friday does such a great job promoting science literacy. And it’s a lot of fun to listen to!”
