Join Science Friday and STEM Educator Tiffany Lucey on a fun adventure exploring arts integration across the disciplines. This cameras-on, hands-on, minds-on workshop will guide you through activities that pair fine arts with mathematics, science, and engineering. You’ll launch bears in space and design pictographs, use Scratch programming to create interactive digital art, and bust out some dance for a musical story of climate change. Then, you’ll work with your fellow educators to combine theatre, language arts, and engineering skills to enact an original scene. All projects can be leveled for learners in grades 3-12 and adapted for a variety of learning spaces.

Live registration is limited to 20 participants. A recording and digital written resource will be provided to all registrants whether they attend live or want to review the information independently. Those participating live will receive a certificate of participation from Science Friday and a kit of free materials to participate in professional development experience. The kit contains a classic Makey Makey Invention Kit and all the art supplies you’ll need for the activities (with plenty left to share with learners). We will use these items during the workshop to develop lesson plans and model activities for learners. You will be asked for shipping information after RSVPing for the event.
