As Ebola Infection Rates Decline, Will Vaccine Search Continue?

The World Health Organization first announced an Ebola outbreak in Liberia on March 24, 2014. More than 24,000 people were eventually infected. Last week, the last known Ebola patient in the country was discharged. Jon Cohen, a staff writer at Science, discusses whether the momentum for developing a vaccine and treatment will stay on track as infection rates decrease, and considers how much more prepared we would be in the face of another outbreak.
