Artificial Sweeteners Might Sour Your Microbiome

Artificial sweeteners are a popular alternative to sugar as a means to prevent weight gain and diabetes. Reporting this week in Nature, researchers identifed a possible link between sweeteners and the microbiome’s ability to metabolize blood sugar levels. Immunologist Eran Elinav, an author on the paper, discusses the results.
