Can Gaming Make Us More Social?

As technology advances, it draws us ever closer to our four-inch smartphone screens. But Katherine Isbister, research director of the Game Innovation Lab at New York University’s Polytechnic Engineering School, imagines a future where technology turns our attention to other people—not avatars. One of her projects, Pixel Motion, repurposes surveillance camera video feeds to create a collaborative street game.
