Nathalie Roy

Nathalie Roy teaches Roman Technology, Myth Makers, and Latin to young students at Glasgow Middle School in Baton Rouge, LA, USA. Her students recreate the products and processes of ancient daily life through experimental archaeology and hands-on history lessons that merge STEM and the humanities. In their most recent project, they built a Roman road through their school’s campus. In 2021 the Louisiana Department of Education named Nathalie its State Teacher of the Year, an experience that took her to the White House to meet President Joe Biden. In the spring of 2024, Nathalie was named a Grosvenor Teacher Fellow with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions. She circumnavigated the British Isles on the National Geographic Explorer. Now, she’ll be teaching her students how to see the world with an explorer mindset. You can find free lessons about the classical world on her Website: www.CreativeClassics.org.
