Celebrate Spring At The Orchid Social
On Monday, April 9, in New York City, join Ira Flatow for a Science Friday garden party.
Join Ira Flatow in welcoming spring to New York City. On April 9, Science Friday will host a party inspired by Ira’s favorite perennial, the orchid. Enjoy a lively discussion with orchid experts and storytellers over drinks and food. Ira will host an informal panel discussion with Marc Hachadourian, curator of the orchid collection at the New York Botanical Garden, and Susan Orlean, journalist and author of The Orchid Thief, as well as a screening of the Science Friday video Sex, Lies, and Orchids. Guests can mingle over a passion for botany, converse with other orchid enthusiasts, and may even have the opportunity to win an orchid from Ira’s personal collection.
Join us in celebrating spring, and examining the elusive nature of these beautiful flowers.
