An Expedition to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch

| In this segment, we'll talk with the leader of an expedition to the great Pacific garbage patch about tracking plastic in the sea. Next week, researchers head by boat to the North Pacific Gyre, a thousand miles off California, to study the floating plastic debris found there. The team hopes to collect better data on the composition, extent, and effects of the debris. |
