This week brought reports of impressive mineral deposits beneath Afghanistan -- but how were those deposits identified and mapped? We'll talk about some of the remote sensing technology used, from magnetic sensing, to analysis of small changes in the Earth's gravity field, to 'hyperspectral imagery.'
