Collisions at the LHC
This week, the first high-energy particle collisions took place at CERN's Large Hadron Collider, with two beams smashing into each other with an energy of 7 trillion electron volts. Happily, the fears of some critics of the work, involving the possible creation of planet-destroying black holes, appear to have been unfounded. We'll talk about the 'First Physics' from the massive experiment and what lies ahead.
