Concussions

With football season heating up, sports officials are facing criticism over the handling of players who suffer concussions, both at the professional and the school level. A preliminary NFL study suggested that retired pro football players may face an increased risk of memory problems and dementia -- a finding that led to Congressional hearings on concussions and football earlier this fall. We'll hear about research into the long term health effects of concussions, and about what can be done to minimize damage from brain trauma.
