Dream Job: Butterfly Caretaker

by Leslie Taylor

Video by American Museum of Natural History

As the American Museum of Natural History's Manager of Living Exhibits, Hazel Davies looks after the 500 or so butterflies from around the world who live at the museum's vivarium during the annual Tropical Butterflies Alive in Winter exhibit at the The Butterfly Conservatory.

She maintains the tropical flowers and vegetation, and looks after the well being of the blue morphos, striking scarlet swallowtails, and large owl butterflies that museum visitors will encounter.
