On the show this week, we'll be talking with actor Richard Thomas. Those of you of a certain age may remember him from the TV series "The Waltons." Thomas is currently playing the role of Peter Stockmann in a new Broadway production of the Henrik Ibsen play An Enemy of the People.
 
Peter is the mayor of a town known for (and prospering from) its baths. His brother Thomas Stockmann (played by Boyd Gaines) is a scientist who discovers that the town's bath waters are toxic. And here the brothers' battle begins. Though the play was written in 1882, its inquiry into the nature of truth and the role of whistle-blowers is as relevant today as it seems to have been in Ibsen's time. 
 
Thomas is also the honorary chairman of the National Corporate Theatre Fund, an association of non-profit theatres. The NCTF's Impact Creativity program supports using theatre as an education tool for school students. Thomas talks more about the program in the video below.
