In the mood for water beetles marinated in ginger and soy sauce? How about some mealworm spaghetti? Husband and wife team Peter Menzel and Faith D'Aluisio traveled to 13 countries where insects are part of the local diet and documented the bug-based meals they ate on their travels for their book Man Eating Bugs: The Art and Science of Eating Insects.

In the slideshow above, take a peek at some of the dishes on the creepy crawly menu, from delectable grasshoppers to Witchetty grub dip.
