Science Friday is seeking a web intern for fall 2015. We are not currently accepting intern applications for the radio show.
Web interns spend most of their time pitching story ideas, writing for the website, and fact checking articles. They may also attend editorial meetings, during which they have the opportunity to suggest ideas for the Science Friday radio show and learn about show production. Other responsibilities might include assisting with social media and using a customized content management system (CMS) to update certain features on ScienceFriday.com.
This is a New York City-based position, and the intern must be present in the office. The internship lasts 9-12 weeks, with a commitment of 2-3 days per week. Interns are paid a total of $1,890 for the duration of the internship.
The ideal candidate will have some journalism experience and enthusiasm for science. Please email (no hard copies) a cover letter, resume, and three clips to web producer Chau Tu (chau@sciencefriday.com), using the subject line: “Fall web internship.” (PDFs or Word docs are fine.) The deadline for applications is July 1, 2015.
